It's all about learning the attacks of enemies / bosses, and understanding what items work well together and what to look out for. The game is majority skill, with minimal luck (at least as far as any game of this genre can be). Weapons will have a ton of affixes on them that provide useful boosts to their power, and are the determining factor of how well your kit will succeed. Enemies will also often spawn in familiar combinations, meaning that you usually know what to expect.Īll items from shops / chests / drops will be random, but as mentioned with Custom Mode, you can counter this by locking items. All of the levels have their rooms shuffled around, meaning that it will never look exactly the same, but you'll come to recognize individual room layouts. If you like challenge, I honestly can't think of a game more hardcore than this one, especially on Hell difficulty.įinally, about the randomization: there's very little of it. There's also multiple difficulties - Regular, Hard, Very Hard, Expert, Nightmare, and Hell - with exclusive content for each and every one. As well as a ton of gameplay modifiers to enhance the experience to your liking. There's also a Custom Mode in which you can modify the game to spawn any and all items that you want, meaning that you could craft a specific build of items and then try it out. There's a ton of different items to gather up and unlock, and they can all be combined in hundreds of different combinations. Replayability largely just comes down to how much you can make out of the game. Just in case, "rouge-lite" means death sends you to the first level, we're fed up with people complaining about that, forget the game if that bothers you. If you really want it to be worth it, don't optimize for success, optimize for fun. for those who want it all and want it now.īeating higher difficulties will takes way more than that for most, so if you're the type that plays for challenge, you'll be satisfied. Just remember not to narrow your runs to very specific stuff if you don't want repetition to kick in(change your playstyle and route you take once in a while and stuff).ġ0-30hours sounds right. Replayability is way more than enough to outnumber majority's attention span, you really need to spend a lot of time to see every possible scenario. There is a lot of content and updates are still coming, but you can't experience most from the beginning, so it may seem shallow at first and will take a bit before it gets deep. Don't ask me for randomization, I can't put it into words.
